i decided to use a different image that related more to music. i edited it so that it looked more professional and also added a border so it fits in more with the rest of the contents page. to make it better and take up space i can add a date.

 

the image on the left hand side shows what it looked like before i had edited it on photoshop, the one of the right shows what it looked like after.

i think the layout of my contents page works well and the colours all go together, to improve i could put a border round the main image and edit it to make it looks more well presented. i think adding the date the magazine is valid until would also be a good idea like shown on my digital mock up, that would also mean some of the space left underneith the image will be taken up.

i used an image of lily allen which i found on the internet to make a digital mock up of where everything would go on my music magazine contents page

i liked the whole pose of this image, but her facial expression made it look more like she was about the eat the brush rather than sing into it.

i liked the idea of using a hair brush as a microphone as it shows what singers usually used to do when they where younger and dreaming of becoming famous musicians. again i like the pose but not her facial expression.

i like this image but i wanted a portrait rather than landscape image for the contents page and when cropped to make it portrait i think it would be to close up.

this is the image i am going to use as i like the pose and by making her face the camera more her facial expression looks more real and less posed.

i think that this draft shows the basic layout of my magazine contents page. I have placed things in all the conventional places and think everything fits into place well on the page.
