as the internet is widley popular and used by people from all over the world, promoting my magazine via it would gain it a much wider audience. to do this i could create short video clips giving information on what is featured in the magazine and special offers which would play on youtube before songs of that genre (indie rock) are played.
social networking and mobile digital technology
facebook and twitter are used by most people around the world, especially around the younger generation between 16-30 years old, which is in the range of my targert audience. by creating a twitter/facebook account updates could be given to followers on sneak previews of what is going to be featured for that months and possibly even special offers which are only for people following the account, this keeps the audience involved and interested in the magazine and also makes them feel special for getting offers and information before any one else.
moving on to mobile digital technology, many people own an iphone, blackberry or any other phone which contains apps, this could benefit the magazine as people could get updates, offers, release dates sent straight to them via the app on their phones which keeps them updated and remindes them more frequently about the magazine.
